Privacy at Restless Forge
Last updated: August 2026
The Short Version
Almost all tools on Restless Forge are frontend-only. Your calculations, images, and files are processed entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers. A small number of tools use server-side processing and are clearly labeled with a "☁ Cloud-assisted" badge — see the Cloud-Assisted Tools section below for exactly what they send. Restless Forge's own code sets no cookies, and we never share or sell your data. The one exception to a cookie-free experience is advertising: Google AdSense may set cookies to serve ads — see the Advertising section below.
Data Collection
We do not collect personal data. Restless Forge does not require accounts, logins, or any form of registration. We don't use contact forms that store submissions. We don't set first-party cookies.
How the Tools Work
Every tool currently published on Restless Forge is listed below. Unless a tool is marked cloud-assisted, it does all of its work in your browser using JavaScript, Canvas, and Web Workers — the files you open and the numbers you type are never transmitted to us.
- What Is My Time Worth? — A real hourly wage calculator and DIY-vs-hire decision engine. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter or open is uploaded.
- HoloPath — A hologram GIF generator that processes images, GIFs, and videos in the browser. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter or open is uploaded.
- SandPath — A converter that turns images and SVGs into sand table patterns (.thr / .gcode). Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter or open is uploaded.
- TattooSafe — A tattoo sizing, camera try-on, and pricing preview tool. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter or open is uploaded.
Cloud-Assisted Tools
Most Restless Forge tools process everything in your browser. A small number of tools use server-side processing for features that require external services. These tools are clearly labeled with a "☁ Cloud-assisted" badge in the tool directory, and each one has its own privacy page describing its exact data flow.
Rise & Rhyme sends your Google Calendar public iCal URL to our server once per day (in the evening before your alarm). Our server fetches the calendar feed, extracts event titles and times for the next day, and sends them to the Anthropic Claude API to generate song lyrics. Event details are not stored after the lyrics are generated. The generated lyrics are returned to your browser and cached there. Your iCal URL and your IP address are stored only as SHA-256 hashes for rate-limiting purposes — neither is retained in raw form — and both are deleted automatically once their rate-limit window closes. Full details: Rise & Rhyme privacy.
Advertising
Restless Forge displays advertising through Google AdSense to cover hosting costs and keep every tool free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- For details on how Google handles data from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, consent for personalised advertising is collected through Google's certified consent management before such cookies are set, and you can review or withdraw that choice at any time via Google Ad Settings. Where consent is declined, non-personalised ads may still set a cookie for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
Your Privacy Rights
Restless Forge holds no accounts and no personal profiles, so in most cases there is simply no personal data of yours for us to retrieve, correct, or erase. Where data does exist — server logs, or the hashed values described above for cloud-assisted tools — the following apply.
EEA / UK (GDPR). Our lawful basis for the limited processing we do is legitimate interest: keeping the site secure and available, and preventing abuse of cloud-assisted tools. Advertising cookies are set on the basis of your consent. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly process the personal information of minors. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email . Because we hold no account data, we may ask you for information that lets us locate the specific records you are asking about.
Children's Privacy
Restless Forge is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, email and we will delete it.
Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service. Basic server logs (IP address, URL, timestamp) are retained for up to 14 days for security and debugging purposes, then deleted.
Third-Party Links
This site contains links to external services:
- Substack — If you subscribe, you share your email with Substack under their privacy policy.
- Ko-fi and Buy Me a Coffee — Donations are processed by those platforms under their own policies.
- GitHub — Source code is publicly available.
Data Retention
- Server logs (IP address, URL, timestamp) — kept up to 14 days for security and debugging, then deleted.
- Cloud-assisted rate-limit records — SHA-256 hashes only, deleted automatically when the rate-limit window closes.
- Everything else — nothing is retained, because nothing is collected. Tool inputs stay in your browser; clearing your browser storage removes them.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Who Runs This Site
Restless Forge is an independent, one-person project operated by Kenneth Cross as a sole proprietor, based in the United States. It is the data controller for the limited processing described above.
